The much awaited grand final performance night of Pilipinas Got Talent (PGT) Season 4 was held last night, June 1, 2013 in PAGCOR Grand Theater, Parañaque, Manila.
The event opened with the performance of PGT Season 3 finalist, El Gamma Penumbra. El Gamma’s remarkable shadow theater performance portrayed this season’s act, artists, and judges to the beat of Francis Magalona’s “Tayo’y Mga Pinoy”.
The main feature of the event, showcased the best performances of 6 grand finalists who passed the long runs of auditions, judges culls, quarterfinals and semifinals under the selection of judges which is composed of the “Queen of All Media”, Kris Aquino, “Comedy Queen”, Ai-Ai Delas Alas, and ABS-CBN executive Freddie M. Garcia (FMG) and votes coming from the audience.
The child wonder of Bukidnon, Roel Manlangit delivered a powerful rendition of Bamboo’s “Noypi”. The judges admired his powerful and wide range of voice and described it as electrifying.
The intense act of Batangas’s dance group, D’ Intensity Breakers made the audience and judges crazy with their jumping stunts and tumbling in rings with flames. Kris Aquino noted that the group deserved to win as they made their performance look so easy to the viewers, Ai-ai delas Alas described the group as “bakulaw sa sayawan” and the “Michael Jordan and Lebron James on the dance floor”, on the other hand FMG termed their performance as “agaw-buhay”.
The ring master of Tondo Manila, Frankendal Fabroa gave a one-of-a kind emotional Cyr wheel dance performance which the judges described as poetic.
One of the much awaited acts was the Lateral Drifter’s Productions performance. The team composed of Gio Rodriguez and Ralph Tan delivered another death defying performance when they removed their cars steering wheel during their car drifting routine. Though Ai-ai and Kris were astounded, FMG seemed to be disappointed noting that he didn’t see anything new in the team’s performance.
The all-male singing group, MP3 Band who has already gathered a number of supporters and fans and few bashers, has shown that they’re not affected by their detractors and proved that they deserved to be in the finals which the judges agreed to. The group delivered a unique rendition of Michael Jackson’s “Man in The Mirror”.
The biggest group among the six, Zilent Overload which is composed of 39 cultural dancers coming from Pasig, brought a lively performance with their colorful props. The judges praised the group’s passion and creativity which was matched with the choreography, music, and scoring.
In the previous seasons of PGT, the winners who emerged victorious Jovit Baldivino, Marcelito Pomoy, and Maasinhon Trio who were all singers. PGT Season 4 could break the show’s history with the remarkable and extraordinary performances of D’ Intensity Breakers, Zilent Overload, Lateral Drifters. On the other hand, there is still a big possibility that Season 4 will still have a singing champion in the name of MP3 Band which gave a unique singing style and earned positive remarks from the judges.
The winners will be announced tomorrow, June 3, 2013. Audiences’ online and text votes will count in the declaration of Pilipinas Got Talent Season 4 Grand Champion.
